it’s emails like this that reminds me why writing puts a smile on my face. the sense of fulfilment and pride is indescribable.
sad to say, i did not manage to attend the exhibition. maybe next time…
Hi Cheryl,
I have just realised that I never did thank you for the wonderful article you put together in the PEAK magazine on my exhibition at TAKSU Gallery. You shaped the information I provided in response to your questions into a really nice piece, and I have had much positive feedback on it here.
Thank you again so much for taking the interest and time to put together such a thoughtful article. I do hope you had a chance to have a look at the exhibition during the time it was on show. Thanks again, and all the best with your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Troy

thank You for not passing me by.
thank You for seeing those tears.
thank You for understanding my disappointments.
thank You for assuring.
i won’t deny the anxiety.
i won’t deny Thy faithfulness either.
i’m holding on to Your promises,
Your words of confirmation and encouragement that was revealed tonight.
i don’t how but in You i trust, dearest Daddy

i thought i was prepared for the worst but that one brief email reply made me realised that i had too high hopes. i guess i was never prepared to face the news. now it’s gone and i don’t know what else to expect any more. i don’t even know how i should break the news to the people that matter most. i’m still in disbelief.
why did You what was/is Your purpose of showing it all and taking it all away?
i’m struggling to hold back the tears, to ignore the stabbing pain.
it feels like You’ve let me down but i know for certain that You haven’t.
i don’t understand but i really do want to understand.

okay,
while i wait for some files to finish uploading before i can email it off to the design team, here’s a sort of quick update of what i’ve been up to…
… which is nothing really that productive in my opinion.
i’ve been sick.
and i still am sick.
the fever+sore throat+flu bug is really annoying me and sleep isn’t the best remedy.
for once, i actually completed my medication dosage and still it’s almost a week that i’ve been ill.
sigh.
on another note…
i’m really starting to envy those who are into designing.
they turn things from ugly to pretty.
i’m beginning to like spending time here more than my own blog.
really..
if you haven’t check it out, i urge you too…
it’s merely just a glimpse of the entire production
this is something that i’m proud to take ownership of.
sure it’s stressful putting it all together but when you see how the bigger picture slowly unfolds, honestly it’s worth every single minute spent on it. i can’t express enough how delighted i am just being apart of this.
two days ago i had a chance to get in touch with an old friend through good old facebook. the old friend knew of my liking for production since then. the then was almost five years ago.
boy,
how time really flies by..
how time can change dreams to reality
how time can make you suddenly realise that everything that had happen happened for a reason.
once again,
it all boils down to just simply being faithful, choosing to make the right choice and obeying Him.
a lot more was said.
but nothing more to reveal here.
it’s late.
email has been sent..
i’m out!

… now don’t tell me to catch it!
argh.
i hate it when i get a cold/ flu/ running nose / however you prefer to call it.
it just slows down everything.
and it’s not good when it comes at the wrong timing. not when there’s a pile of work that screaming for my attention and i’m suppose to be in bed.
yeah, right.
sigh.
it doesn’t help that there’s so many mix up thoughts in my mind too. the so called rest is only making things more ‘depressing’.
i need to occupy my time.
i love being busy.
weekend come quick.

there’s something about acoustic that catches me.
and i love attending mia palencia’s performance.
if i remembered correctly, i think i first heard her songs from her double take’s 1 voice, 6 strings, 12 days of christmas album. she caught my attention then but she definitely won my heart with the single ’sayang’. till today, i still play that song over and over again.
i’ve heard her singing live around three or four times now. local artist with an amazing talent. her voice, lovely! met her personally too during one of my interviews… *winks*
hence, an opportunity not to be missed!

since i needed some kind of distraction to distract myself from certain thoughts, i thought i might as well finish off this post which has been sitting inside my ‘draft’ since i-can’t-remember-when.
yupp, this post was suppose to be uploaded some time back but i never did it because it was unfinished at that time and i grew lazy to continue writing it after that. oh well, no point leaving a post (even if it is old news) half-typed, so here goes..
as i mentioned in my previous blog entry entitled ‘kaleidoscopic landscapes‘, after my morning interview at wei-ling’s gallery i had to rush off to conduct another interview at the kuala lumpur convention centre (klcc).
i was suppose to meet up with jay for lunch at about 12.45pm but since i only reached at about 1.20pm, lunch was not possible. nothing really exciting to share except that i felt like tourist when i laid foot at the convention centre for the first time. in fact, i think i have only walk around suria klcc shopping mall less than 10 times. had my not-so-yummy lunch which left me feeling sick after that, read through my list of questions that i had prepared and after that i did my interview.
i interviewed steven lee, a malaysian freelance photographer based in london and haliza hashim-doyle, a correspondent with tv3 who’s also based in uk. both steven and haliza was in town to launch steven’s second pictorial book about malaysia entitled ‘malaysians‘. the book is “a collection of portraits celebrating the diverse ethnicity of malaysia today, with accompanying text by uk journalist haliza hashim-doyle.”
the idea came about in 2005 when steven, an award-winning portrait photographer, noticed that there wasn’t any books in book stores in malaysia and in the uk that depicted the people of the country – the diversity of malaysians, which is a fascinating mix of races, its cultural heritage and it’s rich tradition.
in his new book, steven shares with us glimpses of the ‘malaysian’ identity – a vision of bangsa malaysia.
check out his blog site for more information on the event.
