about me

born on september 13, 1984 and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the author is a proud Monash graduate. holding a bachelor of arts degree, in which she opted to specialise in communications and writing, she has now embarked onto another interesting yet challenging phase of life: the working life! … and she writes to feed herself…

diagnosed with cerebral palsy since birth, life has never been and will never be a pretty bed of roses. but since a ‘lil girl, thanks to her parents, she was firmly rooted with Christian teachings and values and was exposed to various kinds of inspirational and positive messages, stories, etc. that likely shaped her attitude and way of thinking that nothing is impossible to achieve if there is faith, courage, determination and a realistic goal intertwine together… and … it is through her personal experience that led her to strongly believe that the media is powerful enough to build or break a person’s life.

the thought of writing did occur to her during the later part of her high school days but it was always thrushed aside as she perceived, at that point of time, that her future would be better secured in the business world. therefore she pursued a business course during her pre-university days.

however, it was during that same time as well that things took an interesting twist in her life — which resulted in 180 degree change in her mindset as well…

her involvement with the church, at that time, indirectly open up opportunities for her to try out, nurture and brush her writing skills. from summarising testimonies, writing reports on events and contributing write-ups for the church bulletins, she soon got herself involved with Writer’s Ink. and approximately three years later with D2Y2 as well. it was during the earlier stages of her involvement that she felt she was best suited in this line, hence she opted to pursue her higher learning in communication and more importantly, writing.

to date, the author has several articles published on online magazines, local newspapers and prominant print magazines. in future, she hopes to further explore different mediums of writing such as scriptwriting and just maybe a book too, when inspiration sets in.

the author’s favourite quote, which coincidently is also used in Writer’s Ink. is:

“But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling, like dew, upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.”

Cheryl Mohan’s presence was long known among the citizen of Convent Sentul. May it be the primary or secondary, every one of its citizen knew Cheryl Mohan. It was at this niche, we watched Cheryl Mohan pursue life in a different perspective. Strong, courageous, cheerful, kind, hardworking were all the qualities of Cheryl Mohan. But most of all was her strong faith in God. She always amazes us even till this very day. It is a blessing in-disguise to be given an opportunity to know a girl like Cheryl Mohan.
